School Ethos

At Montessori Village Sarrià, our ethos is rooted in a deep commitment to providing an environment that nurtures curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. We follow the Montessori method, which is based on the belief that children learn best when they are given the freedom to explore and discover at their own pace, within a carefully structured environment. This approach allows each child to develop their unique talents and interests while fostering essential life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.

We are proud to offer a bilingual education in both Spanish and English, providing children with the opportunity to acquire both languages naturally and fluently. This bilingual foundation not only prepares our students for a globalized world but also strengthens cognitive development and cultural awareness.

Our teaching approach is centered on respecting each child’s individuality, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. The learning environment is designed to encourage independence, with materials and activities that invite self-directed exploration. Children are encouraged to make decisions, solve problems, and reflect on their learning experiences, all within a supportive and caring community.

We believe that a positive school climate is essential for fostering a love of learning. Our educators are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where each child feels valued and respected. The close relationship between teachers and students ensures that we meet the diverse needs of all children, offering personalized guidance and support as they progress through their developmental stages.

Our school is not only focused on academic excellence but also on fostering global citizenship. We value the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students and encourage open-mindedness, empathy, and respect for others. This international perspective helps children develop an understanding of the world around them and equips them with the skills to navigate a rapidly changing global society.

In addition to academic learning, we place great emphasis on emotional intelligence and social skills. Through daily interactions and guided activities, we help children develop self-confidence, resilience, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Our low child-to-educator ratios ensure that each child receives the individual attention they need to thrive.

At Montessori Village Sarrià, we see education as a partnership between the school, families, and the community. We encourage open communication with parents and work together to create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. We are proud to offer a holistic educational experience that not only prepares children for academic success but also for a fulfilling and meaningful life.

It has been shown that the first six years of a human being are fundamental in their physical, cognitive, psychological and emotional development. This is why in our centres we give importance to this early developmental period.

Two of our main values are:
*An approach of deep love and respect for childhood.
*A close and familiar atmosphere based on communication, personalized attention and teamwork.

Families that place their trust in Montessori Village see us as a place which respects and promotes the same ideas of parenting and education as them. We take care of their children as they would themselves.

Montessori is an education that promotes peace. Children, in addition to feeling the adult's respect for their own needs, learn to value and understand those of others. This favors a social awareness and conscientiousness about the environment that is necessary today.

We are also based on 4 core values:

*Green Project: Environment and care of our surroundings. Vegetable garden and recycling station.
*Healthy Project: Healthy menu without sugars or processed foods
*Respectful Project: Positive discipline and personalized attention, because every child is different. *Solidarity Project: We collaborate with NGOs
