CreaNova School

School Ethos

Academic Advancements: CreaNova School Strengthens Its Commitment to Innovation.

CreaNova School, recognized for its Learning by Doing pedagogical approach, has started a new school year with innovations that reinforce its commitment to personalized education and the comprehensive development of its students.

Individualized Tutoring
One of the main innovations for the 2024-2025 school year is the introduction of individualized tutoring for High School and Baccalaureate levels. Students will have two hours per week of personalized support, focused on academic monitoring, emotional well-being, and personal development. This measure aims to ensure that each student has at least one tutorial session per term, which will allow them to define and advance in their life project.

Logbook
The use of the logbook has been extended this year to 4th of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education). This resource encourages reflection on learning, written expression, and weekly planning, while also serving as a space where agreements between student and tutor are recorded. Additionally, it helps students become more aware of their progress and improve their personal organization.

Elective Workshops
The elective workshops, which foster a more adaptable and dynamic learning environment, have also been expanded to High School students. Among the options are performing arts, letters lab, health and well-being, audiobooks, film, dubbing, podcasting, music lab, batucada (Brazilian percussion), robotics, woodworking, and philosophy 3/18.

Conversation Groups
With the aim of improving oral skills in Catalan and English, the school has created the "Fils de conversa," small groups where students practice both languages dynamically. In addition, the McGraw-Hill platform is incorporated, which allows individualized tracking of progress in English, offering activities that adapt to different levels and prepare students for external certification.

Teacher Evaluation and Training
This year, teacher evaluation will be implemented in both English and Catalan, with training proposals to improve their skills.

Dining Project
The school dining room also becomes a learning space, where tutors eat with their students. Under the principle of "food negotiation," the aim is to reduce food waste and promote healthy habits.

Digital Coexistence Protocol
To improve digital coexistence, CreaNova School has implemented a protocol where students cannot use their mobile phones during school hours and must store them in lockers. This protocol also extends to all school staff.

Workshops for Parents
Finally, workshops for parents have been designed, based on the philosophy of the Learning by Doing system. Among them, they can attend workshops on mediation and philosophy 3/18, with the aim of helping parents understand how their children learn to express and manage their emotions.

Languages

Primary Language

Catalan/English/Spanish

Additional languages offered

We incorporate all three of our languages into daily life at CreaNova. While Catalan is our primary language of instruction, students and staff naturally switch between Catalan, Spanish, and English, creating a rich, multilingual environment where everyone feels comfortable and included.

Language support available

We provide dedicated language support during school hours to help students align with their peers and fully engage in the learning process.

Curriculum

At CreaNova School, we apply an innovative methodology based on learning by doing, where meaningful learning arises from direct experience. From Elementary (ages 3 to 10) through Baccalaureate, we offer hands-on activities, interdisciplinary projects, and real-world challenges that spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
Our multilingual model (Catalan, Spanish, and English) is tailored to individual needs, addressing diversity, talent, and the emotional well-being of each student. We foster teamwork, personal development, and social skills in a respectful and inclusive environment, with students from over 20 nationalities.
We are committed to continuous and personalized assessment, focused on progress rather than just results, and we integrate new technologies and digital skills as an essential part of the educational process. All of this is made possible by a dedicated and supportive teaching team that guides students to become protagonists of their own learning and prepares them to face the challenges of today’s world.

Qualifications

CreaNova School offers a full range of official academic qualifications recognized both nationally and internationally. Students can complete their education from Elementary (ages 3–10) through Middle and High School (ESO) and finish with the Spanish Baccalaureate (Batxillerat), which provides direct access to university studies in Spain, Europe, and beyond.
For Baccalaureate students who wish to do so, we also offer the opportunity to graduate with the Dual Diploma, obtaining both the Spanish and the American High School Diploma, significantly broadening their academic and international prospects.
Our multilingual curriculum (Catalan, Spanish, and English) equips students with globally relevant competencies, all within a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Facilities

designed to inspire learning, creativity, and well-being. Our facilities include flexible, multi-purpose classrooms, creative labs, music and dance studios, an audiovisual lab, a multimedia room, art workshops, and even a climbing wall — all crafted to support hands-on, experiential learning.

What truly sets CreaNova apart is our vast outdoor space. We believe that learning doesn’t only happen inside four walls: our extensive outdoor areas are essential for fostering exploration, physical activity, social interaction, and emotional balance. From open-air play zones and sports areas to nature-based learning corners, we encourage students to connect with their environment, develop a healthy lifestyle, and find inspiration beyond the classroom.

This unique combination of cutting-edge indoor facilities and generous outdoor spaces creates a holistic learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally.**

If you want, I can tailor this to sound more formal, more promotional, or more family-friendly — just tell me what vibe you need!

Student Support

What learning needs the school can support

At CreaNova School, we welcome first-time enrollments with a strong commitment to inclusivity and individualized attention. We are equipped to accommodate a wide range of special educational needs, provided there is available space within the class to ensure the right balance of support. Our approach is to enroll as many students as we can responsibly, always maintaining a class composition that allows us to deliver the same high-quality, personalized experience to every student. For us, it is essential that each child — regardless of their specific needs — receives the care, attention, and tailored support they deserve to thrive.

What support staff are available

At CreaNova School, we have a dedicated team that strengthens our educational approach. In the Early Years stage, we provide a classroom assistant, allowing us to offer even closer and more personalized attention to our youngest students. Throughout the year, we also welcome student interns who collaborate and provide support across different classes, enriching the learning experience and bringing fresh perspectives.

We have a full-time educational psychologist on site, working closely with the teaching team to accompany students, identify specific needs, and deliver fully personalized guidance and support.

Another key aspect that sets us apart is our in-house kitchen, located within the school itself. This allows us to ensure the quality, freshness, and care of the daily menus we provide — a distinct advantage over other schools that rely on outsourced catering services, reflecting our deep commitment to the health and well-being of our students.

Admissions

Details of entry criteria

Early Years (Elementary: ages 3–10)

No formal academic entry criteria.

Families are invited to a meeting to understand the child’s needs, background, and personality, ensuring a smooth transition into school life.

For students with specific educational needs, admission is dependent on available space in the class to guarantee the right balance of support and resources.

✅ Middle and High School (ESO: ages 12–16)

Academic records from previous schools are reviewed to assess the student’s educational background.

An interview (with the student and family) is conducted to evaluate alignment with our educational philosophy and identify any special needs or support required.

For students joining with special educational needs, placement depends on the class composition and the school’s ability to provide appropriate support.

✅ Baccalaureate (Batxillerat: ages 16–18)

Academic performance and records are reviewed to confirm that students meet the basic requirements for Baccalaureate-level studies.

Students interested in the Dual Diploma program (Spanish + American High School Diploma) must meet additional language and academic readiness criteria.

As with other stages, we assess the school’s capacity to provide support for students with specific educational or emotional needs, ensuring every student can thrive.

Details of entry tests

We do not require an entrance exam; however, we invite prospective students to spend a trial day with us. This allows them to get to know the school environment, the spaces, and the learning approach firsthand. It also gives our team the opportunity to observe how the student integrates with the group and assess whether the school is the right fit to support their growth and development.
