Learnlife Village Hub - Sitges/Sant Pere de Ribes
Learnlife Village Hub is a learning community for children aged 6 to 16, located near Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes. It is for families who want a more personal and caring approach to education, where children are encouraged to understand themselves, enjoy learning, and grow with confidence.
At the Village Hub, learning is personal and built around each learner’s interests, strengths, and goals. Instead of a one-size-fits-all curriculum, each learner has their own learning journey, guided by a mentor who knows them well and supports their academic progress, wellbeing and personal growth.
Families choose Learnlife Village Hub because of its focus on relationships, motivation and a sense of belonging. Learners work in mixed-age groups, build self-awareness and confidence, and gain real-world skills through hands-on projects that foster independence, creativity and critical thinking. Progress is demonstrated through reflection and authentic assessments rather than traditional exams.
The Village Hub has bright indoor and outdoor spaces, including studios and makerspaces, all within a close-knit international community. Families moving to the area find a welcoming, values-driven community where children feel heard, supported and are empowered to thrive in learning and life.

Welcome Note
Welcome to Learnlife Village Hub. We are a small, supportive learning community where children are encouraged to love learning, build confidence, and grow as individuals. Our Hub is near Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes, and we focus on building strong relationships, supporting wellbeing and helping each child develop personally.
We believe children learn best when they feel seen, trusted, and supported. Every child follows their own learning path, guided by mentors who help them grow academically, socially and personally. Our approach is hands-on and meaningful, giving children many chances to explore their interests, work on real projects, and learn through experience.
We value community, curiosity, and connection, and we create a space where children feel safe being themselves and are excited to learn. We invite you to visit and see what makes Learnlife Village Hub a special place for learning and growth.

School Ethos
We believe children learn best when they feel seen, supported, and trusted. For us, learning is more than just sharing information. It’s a personal journey that helps each child discover who they are, how they learn, and how they want to connect with the world.
At the Village Hub, learning is personal, purposeful, and built on strong relationships. Instead of one set curriculum, each learner follows their own path based on their interests, strengths, and needs. Dedicated mentors guide these journeys, supporting each learner’s academic progress, wellbeing, and personal growth.
We balance structure with freedom in our teaching. Learners build core skills like literacy, numeracy, and scientific thinking within a clear framework. They also have time to explore their interests through projects and hands-on activities. Our approach encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity, helping learners use what they learn in real-life situations.
Mixed-age learning is central to what we do. It gives learners the chance to work together, learn from each other, and build empathy, confidence, and leadership. We measure progress by each learner’s personal growth, not by age or comparison with others.
We focus on growth and reflection instead of exams and grades. Learners regularly reflect on their learning, share their progress and set goals with their mentor’s support. This helps them build self-awareness, take ownership and gain confidence in their learning.
Wellbeing and belonging are at the heart of what we do. We focus on emotional wellbeing, positive relationships, and building a strong community. Our inclusive environment helps learners feel safe to be themselves. Families are partners in learning, and community connections are a key part of daily life at the Hub.
We aim to nurture happy, confident, and independent learners who love learning, take charge of their growth, and build the skills and mindset they need to succeed in school and in life.
Languages
Primary Language
English
Additional languages offered
Spanish and Catalan are offered to both primary and secondary learners as part of the weekly schedule.
Language support available
We offer additional language support through small-group sessions, tailored to each learner’s level. Learners have access to English, Spanish and Catalan learning opportunities, with groups designed for both native and non-native speakers. The sessions are adapted to the learner’s age and stage of development.
Curriculum
We use a competency-based approach that supports each child’s individual growth over time. We look beyond what learners know and help them build essential skills like critical thinking, adaptability, and self-direction. Learning is tailored to each child’s age, stage, and needs, so everyone follows a path that best fits them.
- Primary Years (ages 6–12)
During the primary years, learners build strong foundations and grow their curiosity and confidence. They develop skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and languages through structured sessions, hands-on projects, and practical activities. Learning is practical and helps children apply what they learn while building important skills such as problem-solving, teamwork and independence. Learners work in mixed-age groups and move forward at a pace that matches their own development.
- Secondary Years (ages 12–16)
In the secondary years, learners keep building their academic foundations while following more personal learning paths. They take part in interdisciplinary projects, real-world challenges and structured sessions that help them go deeper and make progress. Learners develop advanced skills such as critical thinking, independence, and responsibility guided by mentors who support both their learning and personal growth.
Our award-winning approach is based on years of best practice and research, and Learnlife has been recognised by organisations such as HundrED and Forbes as one of the most innovative schools and learning organisations worldwide.
Qualifications

Mentors guide learners and give them personal support. This helps each learner meet the requirements for their chosen path, whether that is university, entrepreneurship or starting a career.

Student Support
What learning needs the school can support
We are committed to adapting to the needs of our learners through a personal, learner-centred approach. We recognise that each child has unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations, and we work closely with families to provide the right support while maintaining a balanced and inclusive community.
To ensure that all learners thrive, we maintain a cap on the number of learners with additional learning needs that we can support within the Hub.
We offer guidance for:
- Learners who benefit from a flexible, self-directed approach to education
- Language acquisition for non-native Spanish speakers (entry level should be B2 in English)
- Gifted learners seeking extended, self-driven learning opportunities
- Learners developing executive functioning, literacy, and numeracy skills
- Social-emotional development, including tools for self-regulation and well-being
Our goal is to create an environment where every learner feels empowered, capable, and inspired to grow.
What support staff are available
To ensure a holistic and personal approach for each of our learner's development, our team includes:
- Learning Guides (teachers and mentors) who facilitate self-directed learning.
- Learning Assistants who provide additional guidance in the learning environment.
- Referrals to external professionals for specialised interventions and assessments, like psychologists, speech and language therapists, or occupational therapists (available on request).
Admissions
Details of entry criteria
Children need a basic level of English for primary and an intermediate level of English for secondary (ideally B1). If a child is below this level, they can work with a tutor to improve their English before joining Learnlife.
Details of entry tests
We do not use traditional entry tests. Instead, children are invited to experience Learnlife through a taster day or an online family meeting with the Hub Lead. This helps us understand whether Learnlife is the right fit for each family.
Further Information
Our admissions process is personal and supportive. It starts with an online meeting with our Admissions Lead, where we get to know your family and see if Learnlife is a good fit.
Next, families fill out an online application, which we review carefully. If approved, learners can join a taster day, or families can have an online conversation with the Hub Lead. After that, we will let you know the outcome and next steps. If your child is offered a place and you accept, you complete enrolment to secure their spot.
Extra Curriculars
Learnlife takes a different approach to extracurricular activities. Rather than offering a traditional programme, we encourage learners to keep exploring after school by joining sports, clubs and other activities outside of Learnlife. This helps them pursue their interests in real-world settings and connect with the wider community. Many of our learners also stay at the Hub after school to continue their learning.
